Printed on one side only, the map employs elevation contours to show the form of the land.  Different color tints show land management agencies: orange for Indian Reservation, blue for state lands, yellow for BLM, and white for private lands.  Brown dots show sandy areas.  Shows rivers, creeks, washes, springs, and wells.  Township and section lines are marked.  Roads of all classes are depicted (with US, state highways, and reservation roads numbered).  Shows railways, airports and landing strips, major power lines, pipelines, gaging stations, radio towers and more. Cities, towns, and settlements  in the region are Sunrise, Leupp, Winslow, Cedar Springs, Dilkon, and Indian Wells.  The upper two-thirds of the map are within the Navajo Reservation.  Major highways through the region are Interstate 40, US 180, state 87, state 99, and state 77.  The left quarter of the area is within Coconino County, the remainder in Navajo County.

Major physical features on the map include Newberry Mesa, Painted Desert, Little Colorado River, Tucker Mesa, Toltec Divide, Jadito Wash, Coyote Wash, Ives Mesa, Hopi Buttes, Bidahochi Wash, Cottonwood Wash, Marcou Mesa, and Leroux Wash.

Scale, 1:100,000 (1 inch = about 1.6 miles).  Contour interval = 50 meters.  Size: about 42½ x 26¾ inches.  Folded.  Paper.
