Printed on one side only, the map employs elevation contours to show the form of the land.  Color tints show surface management: in this case, which lands are administered by the Forest Service (in green, with Wilderness Areas in darker green), which by the state of Arizona (in blue), and which are private (in white).  Shows lakes, rivers, creeks, washes, tanks (stock ponds), and springs.  Township and section lines are marked.  Roads of all classes are depicted (but only US and state highways, and Forest Service roads, are numbered).  Shows major power lines, pipelines, railways, airports and landing strips, cinder pits, quarries, radio towers, corrals, and more (see sample below).

Cities, towns, and communities on the map include Seligman, Ash Fork, Williams, and Red Lake.  The lower left and right corners of the region are in Prescott National Forest, the middle right section is a part of Kaibab National Forest.  Major highways through the region are interstate 40, US 89, and state 64.  The lower left quarter is a part of Yavapai County, the remainder is within Coconino County.

Important physical features include Aubrey Cliffs, Aubrey Valley, Trinity Mountain, Round Mountain, Mt. Floyd, Big Chino Wash and Valley, Picacho Butte, Juniper Mountain, Big Black Mesa, Meath Wash, Cataract Canyon, Hell Canyon, Bill Williams Mountain, Howard Mesa, Sitgreaves Mountain, and Sycamore Canyon.
