The Personal Service of a Small Business
Your questions are considered individually, by the same person. Need an adjustment to your order? No need to worry about looking up long order numbers or getting into involved explanations about the problem. Or to have to repeat your story when transferred from department to department. Since we are a low-volume business, just tell us who you are and when you ordered, and we'll quickly remember you.
Have questions about the stock? We'll actually read and reply precisely to your question (seems self-evident, but maybe you have encountered, like we have, large-volume customer service reps who apparently just skim over your request and send back stock replies which have little to do with what you asked!). If you haven't given us enough information for us to respond, we will tell you exactly what we need to know to serve you.

Quick Response Time
We generally get back to you within 12 hours, unless your queston requires extra research. Email us during open hours, and we usually respond within the hour.

Detailed, Critical Descriptions
We know of no other online map retailer which provides as much description about the maps they sell than we do. And we break from the usual practice of merchants of never saying anything negative about products they sell. If we know of a "down side" of a particular item, we will tell you. (We avoid stocking even mediocre-quality items, much less poor ones, but may have to if there are no better choices available.)

Discount Prices
Most items are discounted. Most books and maps are discounted at least 10% off suggested retail, and many are discounted much more than that.

Generous Returns Policy
If not satisfied with your purchase, you may return it in the same condition, for any reason, within 30 days of receipt. (Many merchants make that 30 days or even less of your order—which cuts down on your review time considerably if the order takes two weeks to reach you!) If we have goofed (sent you the wrong item, or described it wrong on this website) we will pay the return postage. A special case are the mapping CD-ROMs we sell, which must be unopened to be returnable—so read the specifications carefully before opening! (Please contact us first for instructions before returning any item.)

Extremely Thorough Packaging
No blaming the post office for damaged items! We package to withstand the rigors of the mails. It's not that we like wasting resources—on the contrary, we reuse packing materials as much as possible, which is why you may find old newspaper, old catalogs, and old phone directories as part of the packaging. But we think that every item you order should arrive at your mail box in the same condition it left the store.
