Printed on one side only, the map employs elevation contours to show the form of the land.  Distinct color tints highlight lands managed by the Forest Service, State of Arizona, Hualapai and Havasupai tribes, National Park Service, and BLM.  Shows lakes, creeks, washes, springs, wells and tanks (stock ponds).  Township and section lines are marked.  Roads of all classes are depicted (with US and state highways, plus Forest Service and Hualapai Reservation roads  numbered).  Shows railways, landing stips, major power lines, mines, gravel pits, corrals, and more.  The map also locates key recreation and historic sites (See sample below.)
Communities and settlements on the map are Rose Well Camp, Tin House, Tusayan, and Valle.  The region includes parts of Hualapai Indian Reservation, Havasupai Indian Reservation, Kaibab National Forest, and Grand Canyon National Park.  The only major highways through the area are state 64 and US 180.  The entire map is within Coconino County.

Important physical features include Sandstone Wash, Rodgers Draw, Red Lake, Farm Dam Draw, Cataract Canyon, Monument Wash, Coconino Wash, Rain Tank Wash, Red Butte, Red Horse Wash, Spring Valley Wash, and Hobble Mountains.
