Towns, communities and settlements on the map include Tanner Springs, Klagetoh, Wide Ruins, Pine Springs, Navajo, Chambers, Sanders, Houck, Allentown, and Lupton. The northern portion of Petrified Forest National Park is shown. Most of the upper part of the map is within the Navajo Indian Reservation; the lower right corner is within the Zuni Reservation. The major highways through the area are Interstate 40, US 666, state 63/US 191. Most of the region is within Apache County; the left side is within Navajo County; the right strip within New Mexico is within McKinley County.Major physical features in the area include Hopi Buttes, Pueblo Colorado Wash, Sabina Wash, Wide Ruin Wash, Digger Wash, Lithodendron Wash, Padres Mesa, Black Creek, Tolapai Draw, and Hardscrabble Wash.
