Printed on one side only, the map employs elevation contours to show the form of the land.  Various colors mark the domain of land management agencies, with a yellow tint indicating BLM (Bureau of Land Management), green for Forest Service, blue for state lands, and a pinkish tint for military reservations and Corps of Engineers.  Shows reservoirs, rivers, creeks, washes, canals, springs, and wells.  Township and section lines are marked.  Roads of all classes are depicted (with US and state highways, and Forest Service roads numbered).  Shows major power lines, mines and quarries; campgrounds, landing strips and more.  (See sample below.)

Cities, towns and communties on the map include Ashurst, Glenbar, Pima, Central, Thatcher, Safford, Cactus Flat, Lebanon, Swift Trail Junction, Fort Grant, Solomon, Three Way, York, Apache Grove, Sheldon, Duncan, Franklin, and Virden.  Most of one unit of Coronado National Forest is shown, plus a small section of Gila National Forest.  Also shows Gila Box Riparian National Conservation Area, Hotwell Dunes Recreation Area, Roper Lake State Park and Dankworth Pond State Park.  The major highways passing through the region are US 70, US 191, state 266, state 366, state 78, state 75, and state 92.  Most of the area is within Graham County, but with also a substantial portion of Greenlee County.  The one-and-a-half inch plus eastern strip of the map is within New Mexico's Grant and Hidalgo counties.

Major physical features include the Gila River and Valley, San Simon River and Valley, Pinaleno Mountains, Whitlock Mountains, Whitlock Valley, Gila Mountains, Peloncillo Mountains, York Valley, and Railroad Wash.

Scale, 1:100,000 (1 inch = about 1.6 miles).  Contour interval = 50 meters.  Size: about 43 x 27 inches.  Folded.  Paper.
