freytag & berndt Romania Moldova Road Map
Excellent detailed road and reference map shows all of Romania and Moldova, plus significant portions of adjacent Ukraine, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Serbia. It is printed on two sides, with the west side of the region on one side and the east on the reverse.  The mountains and hills are revealed with shaded relief, a green tint shows the extent of woodlands.

The many different classes of roadways shown are clearly distinguished, with point-to-point distances along major and secondary highways given in kilometers.  Also mapped are railways, car ferries, airports, ports, border crossing points, antique sites, ruins, castles, monasteries, caves, baths, mountain inns, and camping sites.  See sample at right.  Place names are not given in familiar anglicized form, but in the local form.  Place names for adjacent countries which use the Cyrillic alphabet (Ukraine, Serbia, Bulgaria) are provided in both Cyrillic and Roman equivalents

The legend explains symbols in Romanian, German, English, French, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, Czech, Slovenian, and Hungarian.  A booklet attached inside the card cover provides a comprehensive index of place names, plus a detail map of the streets of central Bucarest and Chisinau.

Amco Moldova Road Map
Clear, detailed road map of this former Soviet Republic adjacent to Romania, printed on one side only.  Color tints distinguish the major elevations of the country.  Major, secondary, and other roads are clearly distinguished, numerous cities, towns, and smaller communities are clearly indicated.  An index enables you to find the various place names on the map.  The legend explains symbols in Romanian only, but Romanian being a Romance language (with roots similar to French, Spanish, and Italian) and the symbols being fairly standard, it is not difficult to interpret.

The map will seem a little overpriced for the quality, but this is undoubtedly from the expense our distributor incurred importing this item from a still poor Eastern European country.

Scale: 1:650,000 (1 inch = about 10.3 miles).  Size: about 19 x 26 inches.  Folded.  Glossy paper.
Published by Amco Press, Romania, 1999.  New, looks slightly used.
Item #AMCO-MOL.  Shipping weight: 0.2 lb.  Distributor’s price: $9.95.  Your closeout price: $4.45  (One copy left)

Cartographia Ukraine; Belorussia; Moldova road map
Detailed road and travel map printed on two sides, with the map on one side and the index on reverse.  The map not only covers the three title nations (Ukraine, Belorussia, and Moldova) but also all of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, eastern Poland, and Russia from Moskva (Moscow) west and from Santk Peterburg (St. Petersburg) south.  The hills of the region are indicated with shaded relief.

Cities and towns of all sizes are shown; those which are in the Ukraine, Belorussia and Russia are labeled in both Roman and Cyrillic letters (the names in Roman letters are transliterations from the Russian or Ukrainian and are not necessarily the form one sees on English-language atlases).  Major and minor roads are clearly distinguished, with distances between points indicated in kilometers.  The map also shows railroads, campgrounds, castles, churches, caves, and more.  Symbols are explained in Hungarian, English, German, French, Ukrainian, Belorussian, Russian, and Romanian.  Along with the index, the reverse side includes a table of distances that helps you calculate the distance in kilometers between 26 cities of the region.

Scale, 1:2,000,000 (1 inch = about 31.6 miles).  Size: about 26 x 35 inches.  Folded.  Glossy paper.
