This series of raised relief maps gives you the most detail.
With the exception of a couple of specialty maps (such as the larger of the Rocky Mountain National Park relief maps we sell), there are no other more detailed raised relief maps readily available. (The only alternative is to pay someone hundreds if not thousands of dollars to build a custom model such as you see in National Park visitor centers, or do it yourself).
Click on the thumbnail map image below to go to the full-size index map for each of six parts of the country. This year, we have expanded the selection to cover almost all of the regional raised relief maps available for areas in the US west, east, and Hawai'i— almost 200 titles.
Each regional map is usually named for the largest city or town within the region, and the dots on the index maps show the location of that namesake city. The maps are designed such that you can assemble them to form a larger mosaic (but are also quite impressive individually). Since adjacent maps were often published at different times, the colors seldom match precisely and often are quite noticeably different. But the overall effect is striking. See one customer's full-wall mosaic at this page.
Many of the maps in this series have been discontinued by the manufacturer, and are either in short supply or will soon be unavailable anywhere. The ones marked with Xs on the index maps are no longer available.
About 45 of these maps are now on sale as part of our "Four for $75.00" special, until July 31st, 2008, while they last. See the Raised Relief Map Sale" page for details.
