Printed on one side only, the map employs elevation contours to show the form of the land.  A solid green tint shows the extent of woodlands.  A brown  dot pattern shows sandy areas.  Shows rivers, streams, creeks, washes, and  springs.  Township and section lines are marked.  Roads of all classes are depicted (but only US and state highways are numbered).  Shows major power lines, landing strips, wind mills, radio towers, and more. (See sample below.)

Towns and communities marked include Coal Mine Mesa, Hotevilla, Bacopi, Shongopovi, Second Mesa, Mishongnovi, Shipolovi, Toreva, Sunlight Mission, Hano, Sichomovi, Walpi, Polacca, Five Houses, Smoke Signal, Low Mountain, Keams Canyon, Jadito, White Cone, and Seba Dalkai.  The most important roads mapped are state 264 and state 87.  The middle of the map is dominated by the Hopi Indian Reservation.  This is surrounded by the Navajo Reservation.  The western quarter is within Coconino County, the remainder is within Navajo County.

The major physical features on the map are Moenkopi Plateau, Dinnebito Wash, Garces Mesas, Padilla Mesa, Oraibi Wash, Third Mesa, Second Mesa, First Mesa, Polacca Wash, Antelope Mesa, Low Mountain, and Hopi Buttes.

Scale, 1:100,000 (1 inch = about 1.6 miles).  Contour interval = 50 meters.  Size: about 43 x 23½ inches.  Folded.  Paper.
