Printed on one side only, the map employs elevation contours to show the form of the land.  A solid green tint shows the extent of woodlands, green dots show brushy areas.  Shows rivers, streams, creeks, washes, wells, canals, ditches and springs.  Township and section lines are marked.  Roads of all classes are depicted (but only US and state highways are numbered).  Shows major power lines, railways, airports and landing strips, mines, and more.  (See sample below.)

The map shows the cities, towns, and communities of Tonopah, Wintersburg, Hassayampa, Palo Verde, Cotton Center, Valencia, Buckeye, Liberty, Perryville, Litchfield Park, Goodyear, Avondale, Cashion, Tolleson, Fowler, Santa Maria, Phoenix, Maricopa Village, Laveen, Gila Crossing, Santa Cruz, Mobile, Enid, Heaton, and Maricopa.  Parks and reserves marked include Painted Rock State Wildlife Area, Arlington State Wildlife Area, Robbins Butte State Wildlife Area, Buckeye Hills Regional Park, Estrella Mountain County Regional Park, and Phoenix South Mountain City Park.  Portions of Gila River Indian Reservation, Gila Bend Indian Reservation, and Ak Chin Indian Reservation are included.  

The major highways in the area are Interstate 10, Interstate 17, US 60/89, and state 85.  Most of the land is within Maricopa County, but the lower right corner is within Pinal County.

Major physical features on the map are Palo Verde Hills, Gila River, Gila Bend Mountains, Citrus Valley, White Tank Mountains, Buckeye Valley, Buckeye Hills, Little Rainbow Valley, Maricopa Mountains, Rainbow Valley, Sierra Estrella, Sevenmile Mountain, Mobile Valley, Salt River, South Mountains, and Palo Verde Mountains.

Scale, 1:100,000 (1 inch = about 1.6 miles).  Contour interval = 40 meters.  Size: about 43 x 24 inches.  Folded.  Paper.
