Gettysburg National Military Park

Detailed topographic contour map printed on two sides. One side shows the entire park and adjacent lands, including the town of Gettysburg itself and Eisenhower National Historic Site. Besides elevation contours, the map shows paved and historic roads, and the location of historic farm sites. It also shows woodlands as they exist now and in 1863. But what may be of most interest to amateur or professional Civil War historians, is that the map shows the locations of hundreds of markers, monuments, and tablets indicating the positions of headquarters for the various brigades and divisions, burial grounds, regiments, and divisions, and their campsites. (See sample at right.) These are keyed to a list which names each group and sometimes their commanders.
On the reverse side are six supplementary maps: one is a detail of the present day visitor center and national cemetery area; the second is a detail of The Wheatfield–Valley of Death area; the third shows the East Cavalry Battlefield. The remaining three maps are smaller, and show the positions of the opposing armies on three successive days: July 1, 2, and 3 of 1863. Also on this side is an Order of Battle Chart listing the command structures of the Union's Army of the Potomac and the Confederacy's Army of Northern Virginia, with the names of officers annotated to indicate those killed, mortally wounded, captured, or wounded. Another section concisely describes the battle. Park rules and regulations are also listed.

The main map is on one side; it also shows Stone Valley Recreation Area (a part of Penn State Experimental Forest), Whipple Dam State Park, Alan Seeger Natural Area, Greenwood Furnace State Park, and Penn Roosevelt State Park.Detailed are roads, trails (with the Mid-State Trail and Epic R3 Bike Routes specially marked), power kines, restrooms, swimming areas, camping, picnic areas, wheelchair access, interpretive trails, and cross-country skiing.
On the reverse side are descriptions of easy and advanced hikes, easy and advanced mountain biking, a trail profile and simplified map of the portion of the Mid-State Trail crossing the map, and likewise another trail profile and simplified map of the "R3 RothRock Ride".
