Northern parts of San Carlos Indian Reservation are also covered. Within the National Forest are several Wilderness Areas: Mount Baldy, Bear Wallow, and Escudilla. Also distinguished is a part of Blue Range Wilderness and the northern portions of Blue Range Primitive Area. The largest area on the map is within Apache County, followed by Greenlee County, Navajo County, and Graham County; the New Mexican side of the border is a part of Catron County.Important physical features include the North and East Forks White River, Horse Mesa, Hawley Lake, Mount Baldy and the White Mountains, Big Bonito Creek, Tonto Creek, Black River, Reservation Lake, Big Lake, Escudilla Mountain, San Francisco River, Blue River, and Mogollon Rim.
