Maps of Buddhism
In the past, a number of visitors to this site have requested "maps of Buddhism", maps showing Buddhist countries, maps showing the spread of Buddhism, or similar requests. This page has been created to address this request.
I have not come across any printed maps on this topic. You could probably find such thematic maps printed in an encyclopedia or comprehensive atlas, and I will be on the lookout for specific suggestions. You might like to try doing a search on www.google.com and requesting "Buddhism maps."
I will point out that Buddhism is currently practiced worldwide and that some traditionally Buddhist countries (such as China) have fewer adherents than some traditionally Christian countries (such as the United States). Therefore you should be aware that a map showing the historical spread of Buddhism will probably not accurately show the current status of Buddhist practice in the world.
