Excellent travel map shows major and minor roads, cities and towns, and points of special interest to visitors.  The mountains are depicted in shaded relief, lowlands emphasized with green tints.  (See sample at right.)  Distances between junctions along major roads are indicated in kilometers.  Insets show street plans of central Phnom Penh, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), and Hanoi.  The map is printed on two sides.  Significant portions of adjacent Thailand (as far west as Bangkok) and China are also shown.  The legend describes map symbols in English, German, and French.

Reise Know-How, Laos travel map
Detailed travel map printed on two sides.  Most of the northern portion of the country is on one side; on the reverse side is an inset showing the northernmost part of Laos, with the southern portion covering most of the rest of the sheet.  The maps have elevation contours at 300, 600, 1000, 1500, 2000, and 2500 meter levels, and these are subtly enhanced with color tints.  Shows major, secondary, and other roads (with point-to-point distances along major and some secondary roads, in kilometers); tracks and trails; shipping routes and ferries, railways, water features, national and provincial borders, harbors, airports, parks and conservation areas, and much more.

Lines of latitude are provided at 20' intervals, those of longitude at 30' intervals.  Insets show street details and important buildings of Vientiane, Luang Prabang, and Vang Vieng.  An index helps you locate the hundreds of place names on the maps.  The legend describes map symbols in German and English.
