Henderson is the only city in the area; Meadview, Arizona is the only other significant community. Lake Mead National Recreation Area stretches across the map. Other places shown are much of Valley of Fire State Park, Las Vegas Dunes Recreation Lands, Nellis Air Force Base, and Hoover Dam. The major highways on the map are Interstate 15, US 93, state 147, and US 95. Most of the land is within Clark County, Nevada, with perhaps 15% in Mohave County, Arizona.Lake Mead is the most prominent physical feature; elevation contours within the submerged area of this reservoir are included. Other important features include Arrow Canyon Range, Dry Lake Range, California Wash, Muddy Mountains, Gale Hills, Bitter Spring Valley, Black Mountains, River Mountains, Hells Kitchen, Wheeler Ridge, and Grapevine Mesa.
