Printed on one side only, the map employs elevation contours to show the form of the land.  A solid green tint shows the extent of woodlands.  Brown dots show sandy areas, a solid brown tint shows strip mines, mine dumps, and other mining distrubances.  Shows lakes, rivers, streams, creeks, washes, springs, and wells.  Township and section lines are marked.  Roads of all classes are depicted (but only US and state highways are numbered).  Shows major power lines, mine shafts, mines and quarries, and gravel pits; landing strips, railways, campgrounds and more.  (See sample below).

Henderson is the only city in the area; Meadview, Arizona is the only other significant community.  Lake Mead National Recreation Area stretches across the map.  Other places shown are much of Valley of Fire State Park, Las Vegas Dunes Recreation Lands, Nellis Air Force Base, and Hoover Dam.  The major highways on the map are Interstate 15, US 93, state 147, and US 95.  Most of the land is within Clark County, Nevada, with perhaps 15% in Mohave County, Arizona.

Lake Mead is the most prominent physical feature; elevation contours within the submerged area of this reservoir are included. Other important features include Arrow Canyon Range, Dry Lake Range, California Wash, Muddy Mountains, Gale Hills, Bitter Spring Valley, Black Mountains, River Mountains, Hells Kitchen, Wheeler Ridge, and Grapevine Mesa.
