USGS State of Kentucky Topographic Shaded Relief Wall Map
Detailed topographic map employs shaded relief to show the form of the mountains and hills. Flatter areas are emphasized with a green tint. (See above, with detail at right.) Elevation contours are included, with elevations given for important peaks. Cities, towns, and smaller communities are marked. County boundaries are clearly marked, and counties are labeled. Shows railways, primary and secondary highways, and other principal roads, with Interstate, US, and state highways numbered. As you would expect from a topographic map, it also shows lakes, rivers, creeks, and other water features, with many of them labeled. The whole map is marked with latitude and longitude lines at one degree intervals. No detail is shown beyond the borders of Kentucky, other than state boundary lines. (See sample at right.)Scale, 1:500,000 (1 inch = about 8 miles). Contour interval: 200 feet. Size: about 58 inches wide x 27 inches high. Rolled. Paper.
