DeLorme Kentucky Atlas & Gazetteer
Detailed coverage of the entire state with topographic sectional maps.  The sectional maps cover 67 pages of the atlas, and feature shaded relief and elevation contours to reveal the form of the land.  They show roads of all sizes, including local roads, and trails, railways, major powerlines, wooded areas, wetlands, peaks, points of interest, hospitals, visitor centers, boat launch sites, public campgrounds, public golf courses, covered bridges, and more.  Place names are indexed.

The gazetteer features charts or descriptions of national lands, state lands, historic sites, attractions, unique natural features, covered bridges, fishing, hunting, wildlife viewing, hiking, bicycling, paddling, scenic drives, and campgrounds—all keyed to the maps.

Rand McNally Kentucky State Map
Good clear road map printed on two sides.  One side shows the full state map, with all classes of roads clearly distinguished (and point-to-point mileages indicated for major and secondary roads).  Also shows parks, forests, historic sites, rest areas, and other points of interest.  There is a mileage log which enables you to find the distance between 30 important cities within Kentucky.  A comprehensive index to cities and towns helps you locate them on the map.

On the reverse is a travel guide to the state, featuring brief descriptions of many places of interest and supplementary maps.  The largest of the latter shows the Lexington area in great detail, and uses a special symbol to indicate the locations of dozens of horse farms in the area, which are individually labeled.  Other maps show the main streets of the cities of Ashland, Bowling Green, Covington, Louisville, Paducah, and Owensboro.  Two additional maps detail Cumberland Gap National Historic Park (shared with Virginia and Tennessee) and Mammoth Cave National Park.  And a table listing Kentucky State Parks and selected recreation areas shows the activities and facilities available at each.

Scale, about 1:780,000 (1 inch = about 12.3 miles).  Size: about 36½ x 25½  inches.  Folded.  Paper.
