Printed on one side only, the map employs elevation contours to show the form of the land.  Different color tints show land management: BLM, National Park Service, National Forest, State Lands, and private lands.  Shows rivers, streams, creeks, washes, springs, and lakes.  Township and section lines are marked.  Roads of all classes are depicted (with US and state highways, plus those within Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, numbered).  Shows major power lines, gravel pits, and more.  (See sample below.)

Towns and communities marked include Kanab, Alton, Long Valley Junction, Glendale, Orderville, Mt. Carmel, Mt. Carmel Junction, and Springdale.  Parts of the area are within Dixie National Forest.  The most famous place on the map is Zion National Park, of which the eastern half is shown; the southern end of Bryce Canyon is also on this sheet.  A large part of Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument is also marked, and is the largest named preserve on the map.  Major highways are US 89, US 89A, state 9, and state 14.  The far western portion of the map is within Washington County, with almost all of the rest in Kane County.  A very narrow strip on the bottom is in Arizona's Mohave and Coconino counties.

Major physical features include Kolob Terrace, Zion Canyon, North and East Forks of Virgin River, Vermillion Cliffs, White Cliffs, Glendale Bench, Johnson Canyon, Pink Cliffs, Nipple Lake, and Kaibab Gulch.

Scale, 1:100,000 (1 inch = about 1.6 miles).  Contour interval = 50 meters.  Size: about 43 x 27 inches.  Folded.  Paper.
