Printed on one side only, the map employs elevation contours to show the form of the land.  Color tints show land management status: Distinct colors for Forest Service, BLM, State Lands, and private lands.  Brown dots show sandy areas.  Shows rivers, streams, creeks, washes, springs, lakes and wells.  Township and section lines are marked.  Roads of all classes are depicted (but only US and state highways are numbered).  Shows railways, major power lines, gaging stations, and major pipelines; campgrounds and more.  (See sample below.)

The only towns in the region are Joseph City, Holbrook, and Snowflake.  Interstate 40, US 180, state 87, state 99, state 377, state 77, and a small part of state 277 are the main highways depicted on the map.  The lower left corner includes a part of Coconino National Forest and a larger portion of Sitgreaves National Forest.

Major physical features on the map include West Sunset Mountain and East Sunset Mountain, Clear Creek, Chevelon Canyon, Porter Tank Canyon, Black Canyon, Little Colorado River, Dry Lake, Silver Creek, and Pink Cliffs.

The left quarter of the map is in Coconino County, the bulk of the map is in Navajo County.

Scale, 1:100,000 (1 inch = about 1.6 miles).  Contour interval = 20 meters.  Size: about 43½ x 27 inches.  Folded.  Paper.
