It is impossible to represent the spherical earth on a flat map without distorting the relative sizes and/or the shapes of the features of our planet. A globe is the only map of our world which is both equal area and proportional, and is an important tool for anyone who wants to understand the geography of our home planet. If you order one of the globes on this page using the PayPal shopping cart and need it sent to remote portions of Alaska (almost everywhere except the Anchorage region or Fairbanks) or Hawai'i (all areas except urban addresses on O'ahu), you will need to pay an extra shipping fee.
