Glen Canyon Dam 100K
Glen Canyon Dam, Arizona 1:100,000 scale topo map

BLM Glen Canyon Dam, Arizona, Surface Management Edition, metric topographic map
Printed on one side only, the map employs elevation contours to show the form of the land.  Color tints show surface management status, i.e. the managing government agencies of public lands.  Distinguishes BLM, Forest Service, Navajo Reservation, and National Park Service ownership with Wilderness Areas outlined with a gray tint; and State lands; private lands are untinted.  Shows rivers, streams, creeks, washes, springs, and wells.  Township and section lines are marked.  Roads of all classes are depicted (with US and state highways  numbered).  Shows railways, wells, landing strips,  campgrounds, and more.

Page is the only town of notable size on the map.  Other communities shown include Cliff Dwellers Lodge, Vermilion Cliffs Lodge, Lees Ferry, Wahweap, Bitter Springs, and Kaibito.  About two-thirds or the area is within the Navajo Reservation; the Marble Canyon section of Grand Canyon National Park is included, as is the southern adjacent portions of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.  There's about six square miles of Kaibab National forest in the lower left corner.  Large parts of Paria Canyon - Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness are also depicted.  (See sample below.)

Major highways on the map are US 89A, US 89, and state 98.  All of the region is within Coconino County.

Important physical features depicted include Paria Plateau, Vermilion Cliffs, House Rock Valley, Marble Canyon (and the Colorado River flowing through it), lower Glen Canyon, Echo Cliffs, Kaibito Plateau, Navajo Canyon, Chaol Canyon, Rainbow Plateau, Cummings Mesa, and Grey Mesa.  The Arizona branches of Lake Powell are also depicted.

While the map has elevations in meters, like the other maps in this series, it also includes conversions of spot elevations to feet.

Scale, 1:100,000 (1 inch = about 1.6 miles).  Contour interval = 50 meters.  Size: about 42 x 27 inches.  Folded.  Paper.
