The towns or settlements on the map are Gila Bend, Piedra, Theba, Smurr, San Luis Village, Big Horn, Peters Corner, Midway, and Kaka.  The largest part of the region is dominated by Goldwater Air Force Range.  Also included are parts of the Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation, Gila Bend Indian Reservation, Table Top Wilderness, and about two square miles of Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge and Wilderness.
