Topographic contour map printed on two sides. On one side is the map of the park and adjacent lands, including the main streets of the town of Marietta. Features detailed include roads, trails, park headquarters, visitor centers, points of interest, picnic areas, and parking, as well as historic markers, historic earthworks, driving tour route with tour stops, and wooded cover (see sample at right.)On the reverse are four smaller maps: One shows the place names of northwestern Georgia important in understanding General Sherman's Atlanta Campaign; the second shows the troop movements of each side in the same area as the park map; the third shows the community of Kennesaw north of the park; and the fourth is an outline map of most of the southeastern US showing major Civil War sites in the National Park System. There is also a description of the Atlanta Campaign and the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain, and a list of historical markers. A description of park features and a brief list of rules and regulations are also included.
