Detailed travel and reference map, printed on one side only.  Low-lying areas are distinguished with a green color tint.  Primary, secondary, tertiary (seasonal) roads are distinguished, as well as more primitive routes, and railroads.  Patterns indicate swamps/wetlands, mangroves, salt pans, and forests.  Special symbols mark the locations of airports, landing fields, ports, ferries, lighthouses, bus stations, gas stations, telephone service, post offices, hospitals, points of interest, ruins, forts, information centres, museums, campsites, lodging, and more.  District administrative boundaries are also mapped and labeled.

An inset shows the main street and important buildings of the capital city Banjul.  An index helps you to locate places on the map.  Five small color photos plus the cover image give you an idea of things to see in the west African nation.  Roads and towns in parts of adjacent Senegal are mapped, but in less detail.

Detailed road and reference map printed on one side only.  Shows both Senegal and the much smaller nation it surrounds, Gambia.  Major elevation levels are vividly emphasized with graduated color tints.  Roads of several classes are clearly distinguished, with approximate distances between junctions along primary roads indicated in kilometers.  Shows national parks and forest reserves, district boundaries, rivers and streams, mangroves/swamps, and salt pans.  Other symbols show airports and landing fields, ports, lighthouses, ferries, bridges, train and bus stations, gas stations, hospitals, post offices, police, points of interest, campsites, and more.

Insets show major streets and important buildings of City of Banjul (Gambia), Ile de Goree, Dakar, and Central Dakar.  A generous amount of text gives a brief account of the history and geography of both nations, with additional text giving notes on special places of interest.  An index helps you find place names on the map.
