Globetrotter Egypt Travel Map
Wonderful detailed travel map printed on two sides. On one side is the map of the whole country. The map clearly distinguishes all classes of roads, with point-to-point distances along the main ones given in kilometers. Also shows route numbers, railways, airports, cities, towns and villages, beaches, ruins, places of interest, campsites, oases, ferry routes, and peaks with elevations in meters. (See sample at right.) Mountain ranges are indicated by a uniform color tint (with no actual details of topography). Place names are indexed. Shown on seven different places on the map are climate tables showing monthly average temperatures in both Fahrenheit and Celsius, average monthly rainfall in inches and millimeters (these latter, by the way, are all zeros in five of the seven locations!), and average monthly hours of daily sun. Six full-color photos accompanied by interesting text give you a taste of the country. An inset map shows Egypt in relation to all of Africa.On the reverse side are eleven detail maps, the largest of which is a street map of central Cairo which covers about one-third of the sheet. The other maps detail Alexandria, Giza Pyramids Site, Saqqara Site, Karnak Site, Luxor, Thebes Site, Port Said, Sharm el-Sheikh, Hurghada Coast, and Aswan. Besides street details, they show temples, tombs, pyramids, and other ancient structures; hotels, rail stations, bus stations, parking, ferries, mosques, hospitals, police stations, post offices, cemeteries, parks and more. Eight more annotated full-color photos add further inducement to visit Egypt.

Nelles Egypt travel map
Excellent detailed travel map printed on two sides. On one side is a map of the full country, plus much of adjacent Israel, Jordan, and northwestern Saudi Arabia. Also on this side of the sheet is a large street map of central Cairo. On the reverse are three sectional maps showing the Nile River Valley in greater detail, from the delta and Alexandria south to Aswan and northern Lake Nasser. (See sample at right.)The country and regional maps use shaded relief to reveal the form of the mountains and hills, and detail expressways, major and secondary highways, minor roads, and tracks, and also plot railways, airports, places of interest, beaches, wells, monasteries, pyramids, mines, and historic ruins. Selected mountain peaks are located, with altitudes in kilometers. The legend explains symbols in English, German, and French.
