Shows rivers, streams, creeks, washes, springs, lakes and wells. Township and section lines are marked. Roads of all classes are depicted (but only US and state highways are numbered). Major highways shown are US 95, NV state 163, NV state 164, AZ state 68, AZ state 95, US 93, and Interstate 40. The southern end of Lake Mead National Recreation Area, which extends south just below Davis Dam, is also charted, as is the eastern edge of Mojave National Preserve.The major physical features on the map include the eastern edge of the Piute Range, Piute Valley, Homer Mountain, Newberry Mountains, Dead Mountains, Colorado River and Lake Mohave created from plugging it with Davis Dam; Mohave Valley, Black Mountains, Detrital Valley, Sacramento Valley, southern Cerbat Mountains, and the northwestern edge of the Hualapai Mountains.
The lands in the lower left corner are in San Bernardino County, California; above that is Clark County, Nevada; and all of the east half is in Mohave County, Arizona.
The Desert Access Guide on the reverse side covers topics such Recreation—with sections on campfires, camping, vehicle travel, hunting and shooting, and pets; Protected Resources; Desert Safety Tips; and contact information for the various agencies which manage the desert.
