Credit Card Security
Credit card fraud is a huge problem in the world today, so we want you to know that your card number is safe with us.  We do not store any card numbers on the computer (even temporarily), so they are not accessible to hackers.  We don't even print your card number on the itemized store receipt we send.

We do keep copies of the number on the order form as a part of our essential business records, but we detroy the security code as soon as we process the transaction.  When we destroy copies of card numbers on file that are no longer needed, we shred them so that no one can recover the whole number from the trash.

About PayPal security . . .

As for transferring funds to us through PayPal, they are a separate (and much, much larger!) business, and they are responsible for the security of your credit card information when you use their service to transfer funds to us.  We do have confidence that they are a very secure option.

Because they deal with transferring millions (if not billions) of dollars, there have been scammers who have tried to prey upon PayPal customers.  Specifically, there have been scammers who have sent out emails purporting to be from PayPal which direct you to bogus PayPal websites and try to get you to give them your login or credit card information.  While PayPal members do receive valid informational emails, all valid business with PayPal will be on their secure website:  https://www.paypal.com/

Notice the "s" on the "https" which stands for "secure."  Bogus PayPal sites may actually have the word "paypal" in the internet address, but will be missing the "s".  The PayPal people do work diligently to have false sites taken down, so if in doubt wait a couple of days and any bogus site will probably be off the internet.
