While you would not want to use this map for extensive exploration of any particular state—it does not have enough detail for that—it is great for more hurried multi-state travels and for general reference. Road coverage is not just limited to interstates and US highways; it also includes many more obscure state and county roads. Point-to-point mileages along major highways are indicated in miles (and also in kilometers for roads on the Canadian and Mexican sides of the borders).Shaded relief shows the form of the mountains. Other features shown are national parks and wildlife refuges, state parks, and national historic parks. An index helps you find the numerous cities shown. This map does not show Alaska or Hawaii.
