USGS State of Alaska Topographic Shaded Relief Wall Map
Striking and detailed topographic map employs shaded relief to show the form of the mountains.  Flatter areas are emphasized with a green tint.  (See above, with detail at right.)  There are no elevation contours, but elevations are given for important peaks.  Cities, towns, and smaller communities are marked.  Borough boundaries are marked and labeled.  Shows airports, railways, ferry routes, primary and secondary highways, and the few other principal roads, with highways numbered; also shows the Trans-Alaska Pipeline.

Shows National Parks and Preserves, National Wildlife Refuges, National Forests, state parks and other conservation areas.  As you would expect from a topographic map, it also shows lakes, rivers, creeks, and other water features, with many of them labeled.  Part of the Aleutian Island chain is shown in an inset.  Shaded relief is omitted from the portions of Russia and Canada shown on the map, but other details such as roads, settlements, bodies of water, and other features are shown and labeled.  The whole map is marked with latitude and longitude lines at two degree intervals.
