Regional Raised Relief Maps ![]() Hubbard Scientific Pullman, Washington regional raised relief map This three-dimensional vinyl map shows the southeast corner of Washington on one side and the adjacent part of northern Idaho on the other half. Lewiston and nearby Clarkston are just slightly below the middle of the map, while the title city of Pullman is in the middle upper quarter. The Snake River snakes across from the bottom middle to the left middle, with the Clearwater River joining it in the middle. Dworshak Reservoir is the widest body of water shown, and it is at the far right middle. Washington's border with Oregon is along the bottom left half.
Maps in this series show elevation contours, with a green tint showing the extent of woodlands. Water features such as lakes, ponds, creeks, marshes, canals, and shorelines (where present) are indicated in detail. Shows roads and highways of all classes, and sometimes trails. Railroads are also shown. National, state, provincial, and county boundaries are demarcated, as are other boundaries such as parks and wildlife refuges. Other features shown in this series are mines, airstrips and airports, isolated landmark buildings, lookout towers, and more. The maps are lined with the UTM grid at 1000 meter intervals.
Few of the maps in this series are recently published. The manufacturer, Hubbard Scientific, uses data from the US Geological Survey, but USGS rarely updates any of the maps in this series; most use data 20 to 40 years old. You get them for the depiction of the topography, which rarely changes, not for current roads and city boundaries. In fact, many of them have an added appeal for their historical interest. See below for date of the map described on this page.
