The volcanic nature of the island chain and the lushness of its vegetation is wonderfully evident in this depiction of the 50th state. Insets show the island of Oahu at larger scale, and the whole string of islands (not just the larger inhabited ones) at a smaller scale, from the Big Island all the way out to Midway and Kure Islands. .
Scale of main map: about 1:1,250,000 (1 inch = 20 miles); scale of Oahu inset: about 1:450,000 (1 inch = about 7 miles). Size: about 22 x 17 inches.
