Cedar City, Utah-Arizona 1:100,000 scale topo map

BLM Cedar City, Utah-Arizona (Surface Management Status), metric topographic map
Printed on one side only, the map employs elevation contours to show the form of the land.  Different color tints show land management: Yellow for BLM, green for National Forest, blue for State Lands, orange for Indian lands, violet for National Park Service, and untinted white for private lands.  Shows rivers, streams, creeks, washes, springs, and lakes.  Township and section lines are marked.  Roads of all classes are depicted (with federal and state highways numbered).  Shows landing strips, major power lines, mines, recreation sites, and more.  (See sample below.)

Towns and communities marked include Uvada, Modena, Beryl, Beryl Junction, Enterprise, Newcastle, Pinto, Iron Mountain, Kananaville, Hamiltons Fort, Enoch, and Cedar City.  Parts of the area are within Dixie National Forest.  About ½ square mile of the northernmost portion of Zion National Park is shown.  The only other named land jurisdiction on the map is Paiute Indian Reservation.  Major highways depicted include Interstate 15, state 18, state 56, and state 130.  Most of the region is within Iron County, with the rest in Washington County.  This map is unusual for a quadrangle in that instead of sticking strictly to the 114 degree longitude left border, they have extended the map coverage about three miles westward to the Utah-Nevada state line.

Important physical features shown include Paradise Mountains, Indian Peak Range, Bull Valley Mountains, Upper and Lower Enterprise Reservoirs, Escalante Desert, Escalante Valley, Pine Valley Mountains, Harmony Mountains, Antelope Range, Cedar Valley, Hurricane Cliffs, Cedar Mountain, and Rush Lake.

Scale, 1:100,000 (1 inch = about 1.6 miles).  Contour interval = 50 meters.  Size: about 43½ x 27 inches.  Folded.  Paper.
