Regional Raised Relief Maps

Hubbard Scientific Campbellton, New Brunswick regional raised relief map
This three-dimensional vinyl map is dominated by the heart of western New Brunswick, with a small section of Maine in the lower left corner.

Maps in this series show elevation contours, with a green tint showing the extent of woodlands.  Water features such as lakes, ponds, creeks, marshes, canals, and shorelines (where present) are indicated in detail.  Shows roads and highways of all classes, and sometimes trails.  Railroads are also shown.  National, state, provincial, and county boundaries are demarcated, as are other boundaries such as parks and wildlife refuges.  Other features shown in this series are mines, airstrips and airports, isolated landmark buildings, lookout towers, and more.  The maps are lined with the UTM grid at 1000 meter intervals.  See map detail viewed at oblique angle at right.

None of the maps in this series are recently published.  The manufacturer, Hubbard Scientific, uses data from the US Geological Survey, but USGS has updated few of the maps in this series since the 80s; many are far older than that.  You get them for the depiction of the topography, not for current roads and city boundaries.  In fact, many of them have an added appeal for their historical interest.  See below for date of the map described on this page.
